I am qualified in separating couples’ mediation and commercial mediation and was an accredited mediator with the Bar of Northern Ireland and Law Society for many years. 

For 33 years, I enjoyed a successful career as a barrister and QC with extensive experience of advising on and representing clients in many areas of law, including family law. 

The experience taught me a lot about highs and lows of conflict dynamics, and also the risk in getting ‘stuck’ in conflict. 

The law has an important place in conflict resolution, but I came to believe that most conflicts can be more effectively resolved through mediation with better outcomes for all involved.  That is why I chose a career in mediation.
